11th Bright 'n' Breezy, 11, 12 & 13 January, 2008 The Old Ship - Brighton Brighton's oldest and most established hotel For a world famous pier, glorious beaches and a great promenade, you’re definitely going to the right spot. The Paramount Old Ship Hotel is the most historic place in town to stay, and in a fabulous location for getting to all the local attractions, like the Royal Pavilion and its distinctive Indian architecture. The designer boutiques and shops in the Lanes area are also great for your partner to spend their time in while you concentrate on your backgammon. The hotel has parking spaces for 40 cars. The cost is £15 per day. There is an NCP nearby, which costs about the same. If you wish to park at the hotel you can do so until all spaces have been filled. Please note it is valet parking and returning your car to you is via a pre-arranged time so that it can be ready for collection. At busy times this can take up to 30 minutes.
2008 @ Barceló Daventry Hotel (February to December events) For the remainder of the year we return to the Barceló (Paramount), Daventry Hotel. The hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment since our last visit, and over £2 million has been spent to turn it into a superb venue. As part of our deal with Barceló Daventry, Biba has negotiated complimentary wi-fi in the playing rooms, plus the welcome return of the weekend prize for the Friday evening. In 2008, Friday nights will become ‘must attend’ nights: The Friday 500, plus the weekend free for the 500 winner! Also, accommodation at both hotels has been kept at the 2007 rate. The rates for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast at both venues are: Single room: 1 night £61, two nights £106 NB: Sunday night . . . add £61 for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast NB: If you don't want to travel home on the Sunday evening, the hotel will give you a special rate for the Sunday night. Ask for details when booking your accommodation. It should be noted that the hotels have blocked off rooms at the special Biba rate and they will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.To be certain of a room book as soon as you can and avoid being disappointed. .

VENUE CHANGES For a long time now I have been telling you to BOOK EARLY to ensure you get a room for the events you want to enter, and still too many of you are leaving it too late. Three events this year have to be moved in order to be certain that there are enough rooms available to meet demand.
