FRIDAY 500
Exciting news! At 9 o’clock on Friday nights there will be a free entry tournament for all members stopping at the hotel (non-residents will pay £20 to enter). It is a 5-point Knockout based over 11 tournaments (each one is a 'stand-alone event with £pools), the final winner of which will take home from the December, Gilbertson UK Finals the princely sum of . . . . . . . £500

2, 3, 4 May. The County Cups Trophy: The second of our four Swiss format events and another UK Finals Qualifier event. If you like playing 6 x 11 point matches over the weekend, then this is the event for you. Swiss events offer great opportunities to rack up championship points: Grand Prix and Ranking - and could well place you in the money!

British Isles Backgammon Association & Partouche Gammon Present a Partouche Gammon Tour Super Satellite event THE ENGLISH OPEN 6, 7, 8 June 2008 Barceló Daventry Hotel Partouche Gammon are the sponsors of the inaugural tournament of this prestigious event. They have kindly donated superb prismic glass trophies and for the English Open winner, a seat at the Cannes PGT tournament (value €680), 15-20 July, 2008. The event features the usual Biba elements, 11 point Main, 7 point Progressive Consolation, 5 point Last Chance, and in memory of Graham Powell, ‘The Grammy’ 3 pointer. The weekend kicks off on the Friday with the Friday 500 and in addition to the backgammon there is Poker on the Saturday evening sponsored by Mark Dixon who is adding £100 prize money. |

4, 5, 6, July - Keren Di Bona Memorial Trophy Sponsored by Emmanuel Di Bona, this four element Knockout tournament offers the usual Main, Progressive Consolation, Last Chance and the Bona of Contention. Also, this tournament will feature a 3-point Piphit knockout on the Saturday evening with a 1st Prize of £25! (see here for details). | ||
